Spotlight Event: Surfside 90th Anniversary Celebration
The Town of Surfside was established May 18, 1935, and the city is celebrating its 90th anniversary, offering its residents an array of events. Surfside is the 15th oldest municipality in Miami-Dade County, and Surfside's rich history is present in today's community through the wisdom of its legacy residents and storied properties like The Surf Club. The Resort and Tax Board will host a series of special events, curated to give residents and visitors the opportunity to spotlight the past and experience Surfside at its very best.
Paddletopia!
This family-friendly celebration event highlights Surfside's unique waterfront lifestyle and sustainable practices. Free kayaking and paddleboarding, music, refreshments, fitness classes and demonstrations, and a community clothing swap and yard sale by the Community Relations Board.

Historical Walking Tour with Dr. Paul George
Renowned Miami historian Dr. Paul George will lead participants through a journey down Surfside’s past, highlighting the Surfside’s ancient Tequesta heritage, its incorporation, the establishment of the Surf Club and the various factors that accelerated development after WWII. Space is limited.

Surfside 90 Celebration
The centerpiece of the Surfside 90th anniversary will take place at 96th Street Park. This adult-oriented event will offer an elegant, warm setting to commemorate the town. Surfside residents with ID will be treated to complimentary food stations, hors d'oeuvres, bar with two comp drinks per person (21 and over), live music, a photo station, and special giveaways (while supplies last).

Fifth Thursday: The Art Affair
Surfside’s final block party of the season will take place May 29, 6-9 p.m. at the Town Hall and will feature live music, complimentary bites and a variety of vendors. It will have a striking art theme and showcase creativity and visual arts.

Pick a color and grab a can! Every Saturday at the Graffiti Museum in Wynwood, budding artists can learn how to express their creativity through a spray can. Classes take place promptly at 5 p.m. and are limited to eight adults per session. Classes are $75 and include paint, ponchos and gloves, and admission to the museum after class concludes. Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and prepare to have fun. Attendees must purchase tickets in advance.
