Bayfront New Year's Eve Bash On Without Rising Orange

by

The big orange won't rise at the InterContinental Hotel along with the New Year's countdown because Steve “Mr. Neon” Carpenter and his crew have come down with COVID, but the party is still on.

That's right, while a number of cities have curtailed or canceled New Year's celebrations, the New Year’s Eve Bayfront Park Party is back after a two-year hiatus.

Despite a raging omicron variant, the City of Miami explained in a news release that the outdoor party is moving forward at 301 Biscayne Blvd. because "A high level of vaccinations has been reflected in the last week among the general community."

Commissioner Joe Carrollo, Chairman of the Bayfront Park Management Trust, also stated: “The great farewell party of the year at Bayfront Park aims to become the best and most relevant entertainment option and will be the largest in the United States after the Times Square event in New York, with renowned local and international artists."

There will be confetti and a fireworks display at midnight. Dozens of stations will be available for disinfection and hand washing and masks will be given away to anyone who wants one.

Those who wish to remain at home can view it live on the City of Miami Bayfront Park Trust Web platforms and on America Teve, Channel 41.

Below is an event schedule with a list of the star-studded lineup:

6:00 – 9:30 p.m.

9:30 p.m. - midnight

General Admission to Bayfront New Year’s Eve is free, but space is limited.

VIP packages are available for purchase at: www.bayfrontparknye.com

A digital option is being pursued to replace the traditional neon orange rise at midnight.
